Burberry to premiere Spring 2016 collection on Snapchat before runway show

The iconic British brand, which is presenting its womenswear Spring/Summer 2016 collection on Monday 21 September in London’s Kensington Gardens, will give Snapchat users an exclusive sneak peak the evening before the event.

Burberry and Snapchat announced this Friday that the label’s forthcoming collection will be premiered on Sunday at 7pm (London time), revealing the collection’s finishing touches, captured live from the Burberry design studio in London.


For the first time, Snapchat will bring its Live Store coverage to a Burberry show - Burberry


The new Snapchat show will be featured on Burberry’s Snapchat account.

The video messaging application will also run a Live Story coverage on the day of Burberry’s fashion show. The “Burberry Live Show” will start at 12pm and last for 24 hours, housing a curated montage of crowd-sourced Burberry show-related
video and imagery.

The coverage will give Snapchat users access into Burberry’s show from the red carpet to backstage and beyond.

Burberry’s Creative Director and CEO Christopher Bailey said “With Snapchat, Evan Spiegel has created a phenomenal platform that captures the spirit of a moment. We are excited to be working with him to launch the Burberry Snapchat Show allowing a unique, real time view of the creation of our show which will include an unprecedented collection premiere hours before it hits the runway.”

This is not the first time Burberry and the social media company are collaborating; the iconic British label premiered on Snapchat in February this year, when it shared live moments from its Autumn/Winter 2015-16 runway show on the platform.
Burberry also used Snapchat to share videos and captures of its London to Los Angeles event in April.

Burberry’s fashion show, which will feature British singer Alison Moyet performing live, will take place on Monday 21 of September at 1pm in London. In addition to Snapchat, viewers will be able to experience the show live through video, imagery and music across multiple Burberry platforms including Burberry.com, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter ,Vine, Line, Kakao and WeChat.
