Ecco to open second premium store in Utrecht

Published
Sep 21, 2017

Danish footwear- and accessories brand Ecco is opening a premium store in Utrecht on 29 September. Following Germany (Hamburg) and China (Shanghai), the Netherlands is the third country that carries out the new Ecco concept. The brand already opened its doors to an Amsterdam branch in May of this year.

The 55 m2 store is located at Utrecht’s Hoog Catharijne, the city’s recently renovated mall. Ecco creates collections for men, women and children- ranging from outdoor footwear to sandals.

“Ecco stands for modern Danish design, which combines heritage with innovation and brings together comfort and style. With the new premium concept we aim to improve the brand image even further,” said Erik Heldoorn, sales director core Europe at Ecco. The new store will also reference the brand’s Danish heritage, giving a nod to Scandinavian design with its interior.

Next to the two premium stores, Ecco also operates via its 54 monobrand stores and online shop in the Netherlands. The brand is available in 88 countries, with 2,000 standalone stores and 14,000 points of sale. Ecco currently employs 19,000 people across the globe and was founded in 1963.
