Giorgio Armani to host Miaoran show in his theatre

Giorgio Armani has confirmed his engagement in favour of young creativity, by allowing an emerging designer to show at the Armani/Teatro theatre during the Milan Fashion Week, for the thirteenth consecutive season.

Miao Ran, who created the Miaoran label

From 17th to 21st June, at the next menswear fashion week, it will be the turn of Chinese designer Miao Ran to appear under the Milanese theatre's spotlights.

Miao Ran, 29, hails from Shanxi, north of Beijing. He studied in a local fashion school before coming to Milan to refine his skills. He is a fashion design graduate from Milan's Polytechnic university, after which he specialised in fashion design at the Carlo Secoli Institute and took a master's course at the NABA (New fine arts academy) design school.

He based himself in Milan, collaborating with labels such as Missoni, and in 2014 he launched his own unisex ready-to-wear line. The label is called Miaoran, and it is distinctive for its minimalist, geometric cuts. Miao Ran's collection was first featured as part of the Milan show calendar last January.

In June 2015 Miaoran won recognition at the Pitti Uomo show, being awarded a special mention in the 'Who Is on Next?' Men's 2015 competition.
