NEW DELHI (Reuters) - The government has released 25.46 billion rupees of subsidies to textile firms to upgrade their technology, textile minister Dayanidhi Maran said on Thursday 6 August.

Maran said the fund under the technology upgradation fund scheme would reach beneficiaries in three working days.

Maran also said a committee to formulate a national fibre policy has been set up and would submit its recommendations in three months.
