Published
Apr 5, 2016

H&M, the Swedish value fashion retailer, is continuing its global roll-out and will open ten new stores in Mexico this year, after opening eight stores in the country in 2015. Its current number of stores in Mexico is 16.

The ten new stores will be located in: Via Vallejo (MX), Plaza Mayor (Leon), Plaza Cibeles (Irapuato), Parque Tezontle (MX), Mundo E (MX), Plaza Delta (MX), Galerías Atizapan (MX), Barranca Del Muerto (MX), Fashion Drive (Monterrey), and Puerto Cancún (Cancún).

The new H&M boutiques will measure an average of 2,500-3,000 sqm. and H&M will hire 700 new employees in the country for 2016. Last year the retailer had 850 employees in Mexico.

H&M is continuing to focus on South America and will open in Puerto Rico this year, too. It currently has South American stores in Mexico, Chile, and Peru.

Last week the retailer announced that it was opening dedicated online stores in seven new countries: Croatia, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Slovenia, Luxembourg and Ireland. It said roll-out of shop online to other markets of the H&M Group will follow.
