Handbag brand Nicole Lee arrives in Costa Rica

Nicole Lee, the American handbag company, is expanding its presence into Costa Rica trough a franchise model. The brand’s first store, part of a $120,000 investment, will be located at San José’s City Mall.

The brand also announced plans to open two more franchise stores within the next six months.

Launched in 2004, Nicole Lee’s unique designs and products have found an audience in the young and teenage market segment.

Rafael Gomez, representative of Nicole Lee in Costa Rica, said the company’s styles are very much in line with the country’s market and that he expects a rapid expansion.

Nicole Lee has an annual turnover of $300 million both from its directly owned stores and franchises. The handbag and accessories company has presence in over 19 countries worldwide, including Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Panama, Puerto Rico, Guatemala and Uruguay.
