Hawkers launches exclusive sunglasses collection with skater Nyjah Huston

Spanish eyewear brand Hawkers has launched an exclusive capsule collection of sunglasses with skateboarder Nyjah Huston.

The Nyjah Huston collection is comprised of three models designed especially for skateboarding. The three styles are based on the brand's unisex Warwick model and are streetwear inspired. The frames are made of cellulose acetate, a natural plastic derived from cotton linters and wood pulp.

Nyjah Huston is a professional skateboarder who calls Davis, CA his home. He has won seven gold medals in the X Games.

"Nyjah loves what he does and works every day to achieve perfection. He is recognized worldwide as one of the best skaters in history at only 22 years old. That passion and authenticity caught our attention and made us want to have him on our team," said Alex Moreno, co-founder and CEO of Hawkers. 

"I wanted to work with Hawkers because they make a quality product, I believe in what they are doing and I also wanted to have a good time with the project. I always tell children that if they want to make skateboarding their professional career, they should have fun but also keep their focus. Hawkers is a perfect fit," says Nyjah Huston.

Huston joins celebrities including soccer player Lionel Messi and DJ Steve Aoki, with whom Hawkers has also launched joint collections in recent months.

Hawkers started in 2013 in Spain and operates as an e-commerce company. It had planned to open its first physical store last July which would have signalled the jump to brick and mortar retail for the brand, however to date Hawkers has still not opened a physical store.

In less than four years, Hawkers has sold more than 4.5 million glasses throughout 50 countries. It sold over $72 million dollars in 2016.

The Nyjah Huston collection is available on the Hawkers website. The glasses can be purchased for under $50.
