On July 11, Italian textile manufacturer Marzotto announced a major top management reshuffle: Davide Favrin, CEO of Marzotto Wool Manufacturing, has been promoted to the post of CEO of the entire group. He takes over from Sergio Tambroni, who was in charge since 2006 and will remain at the head of silk and luxury fabric manufacturer Ratti, in which Marzotto has a stake.

Davide Favrin, CEO del Gruppo Marzotto

An engineering management graduate from the University of Udine in northern Italy, Favrin started his professional career in the glass-making sector and then moved to the hotel industry.

In 2007 he joined the Marzotto group, in which he occupied increasingly senior roles in the woollen yarn business. He was in charge of Filivivi and Linificio Canapificio Nazionale, then in 2015 he was appointed CEO of Marzotto Wool Manufacturing, which controls wool specialist companies Fratelli Tallia di Delfino, Guabello, Marlane, Esthethia Gb Conte and Marzotto’s own wool production.

The reshuffle also involved two other Marzotto top managers: Giorgio Todesco has taken charge of Marzotto Wool Manufacturing, and Luca Vignaga was appointed CEO of Marzotto Lab.

Marzotto was founded as a wool weaving factory by Luigi Marzotto in the small Veneto town of Valdagno in 1836. It is now a leading international player, operating in all the main textile manufacturing sectors. It employs 3,200 workers in 15 factories (of which 10 are located in Italy) and its consolidated revenue in 2017 was €347 million.
