Madrid Fashion Week kicked off on Thursday February 16. Some 43 men's and womenswear designers will unveil their latest collection, with the "see now, buy now" concept a key trend for the Spanish design week ahead.

The Madrid podium will showcase collections until February 21, posing as an opportunity for designers to unveil their latest offerings for autumn/winter 2017-18. This Fashion Week will also see designers Marcos Luengo and Menchén Tomás hit the runway for the first time, as well as Custo Barcelona, a label which usually shows in New York.

Roberto Verino, who adopted the "see now, buy now" trend, will present his spring/summer 2017 collection, inspired by the brightness and colours of the summer in Cannes, while Desigual has chosen winter sports as a source of collection inspiration.

Elsewhere, designers María Escoté, Maya Hanssen, Ángel Schelesser, Francis Montesinos, Ion Fiz and Devota & Lomba will unveil their creative universes throughout Friday.

The following day, Moisés Nieto will share the runway with Miguel Marinero and Andrés Sarda, with the participation of Victoria Abril, will unveil sophisticated lingerie.

Roberto Torretta, Ana Locking, Hannibal Laguna, Teresa Helbing and Menchén Tomás are more designers who will have the opportunity to introduce new womenswear design concepts throughout the week.

Meanwhile, Marcos Luengo, Ailanto, Ulises Mérida and Juana Martín, a Spanish designer who will host the group Medina Azahara, will present their collections on Sunday morning. In the afternoon, Malne and María Ke Fisherman will complete the show puzzle.

Finally, Alvarno, Jorge Vázquez, Duyos, Juanjo Oliva, JLorenzo and Esther Noriega will have to wait until Monday to show their collections, with one eye set expectantly on Juanjo Oliva and his menswear show.

The final day is set apart for young and newcomer designers, with the support of Samsung EGO.
