Mike Butterworth exits COO role at Intu

British shopping centre operator, Intu, has announced the departure of COO Mike Butterworth, who has retired at the end of 2015. The role will not be directly replaced, informed the company, which owns 18 shopping centres and developments across the UK and three projects in Spain.


The company is currently expanding into Spain - Intu


Martin Breeden has been appointed Development Director, with responsibility for development across the UK and Spain, while Julian Wilkinson has been named as Asset Management Director, responsible for optimising the performance of the UK shopping centres. Both will report to David Fischel, Chief Executive, and join the Executive Committee.

Additionally, Intu’s CFO, Matthew Roberts, will assume responsibility for centre based operations whilst retaining his existing responsibilities.

Some of Intu’s centres in the UK include Intu Watford in Hertfordshire and Uxbridge in the London borough of Hillingdon.
