On May 8, before the start of the Spanish Formula 1 Grand Prix, the Ferrari racing team revealed the Scuderia Ferrari Carbon Blade, sunglasses designed by Oakley that combine both eyewear and automotive engineering expertise.

The premium model, which completes the 8-piece Scuderia Ferrari Collection, comes after a multi-year partnership signed in November 2013 between the Oakley motorsports division and Scuderia Ferrari. It’s a partnership that, beginning with the 2014 F1 season, makes Oakley the official manufacturer and supplier of Scuderia Ferrari eyewear.

In associating with such a prestigious sport, the Californian brand is sure to boost its own reputation. Team drivers Fernando Alonso, Kimi Räikkönen, Pedro de la Rosa and Marc Gené will display the Oakley logo on their hats throughout the 2014 F1 season and will wear Scuderia Ferrari eyewear on and off the track.
