PARIS, Oct 28, 2010 (AFP) - French luxury goods retailer PPR on Thursday reported a 12.9 percent jump in third quarter revenue compared with the same period last year, which it attributed to a strong international performance and sales over the Internet.

PPR, which markets such brands as Gucci and Puma, said sales in the July-September period came to 4.45 billion euros (6.2 billion dollars), beating forecasts from analysts polled by Dow Jones Newswires of 4.29 billion euros.

"These good results reflect the commercial dynamism of the group, particularly on the Internet and internationally," said chairman Francois-Henri Pinault.

"They enable us to be confident about the improvement of our operational and financial performance for 2010.
