Première Vision Paris has called on one of its most famous visitors to chair the jury for the ninth edition of the PV Awards competition: actor and designer John Malkovich, who regularly attends the textile trade show, hunting for new fabrics.

Many a visitor at Paris' Villepinte Exhibition Centre has come across the discreet figure of double Academy Award winner John Malkovich, browsing the various suppliers' booths, sling bag on his shoulder. "I love the inspirational wealth of creativity I find here," he told FashionNetwork last February. John Malkovich is currently busy working on his label's relaunch, and last May in Milan he took part in the 'Amo il lino' (I love linen) campaign, organised by CELC, the European confederation of linen and hemp.

He will head a jury of industry professionals consisting of Pilar Ballesteros Arjona (Loewe), Gel Egger Ceccerelli (Gel Egger Ceccerelli), Béatrice Ferrant (Rochas/Interparfums), Roy Genty (Issey Miyake), Jürgen Sailer (Dries Van Noten), Emily Robson (Christopher Kane), Diane Pernet (ASVOFF), Frances Corner, OBE, of the London College of Fashion and University of the Arts, London, Vanessa Schindler (winner of the Première Vision Jury Grand Prize at the Hyères Fashion Festival 2017) and designer Angelo Tarlazzi.

For this edition, the PV Awards will grow in number from six to eight, as they will also include the Fashion Smart Creation Prizes, for fabrics and leather. As last year, the six other prizes will be the Handle Prize, Imagination Prize and Grand Jury Prize, each of them awarded to a textile and a leather manufacturer. The award ceremony will take place during the next Première Vision Paris show, scheduled from 19th to 21st September at the Paris-Nord Villepinte exhibition centre.
