Van Gelder Jewellery to launch book series

Dutch jewellery house, Van Gelder Indian Jewellery is publishing a book series. The book series is a result of 35 years of research by company founder, Bernadette van Gelder-van der Ven.

The series is made up of two volumes: Part 1: The Golden Smile of India and Part 2: Beautiful People. In the books, the founder describes the origin and (spiritual) meaning of specific materials such as gold and gemstones, which are used in the making of Indian jewellery. Van Gelder’s books are a personal reflection of India and the country’s jewelry tradition. It will feature photographs and illustrations in addition to detailed explanations.

The Van Gelder Jewellery house was founded in 1980. The company specializes in Indian jewellery for women. Specific prices are available upon request. Since 2015 Fleur Damman-van Gelder and Noelle Viguurs-van Gelder have run the family business. The company often exhibits at international art fairs, such as Tefaf Maastricht.

The Golden Smile of India and Beautiful People will be available from 21 November. From 1 January 2018 the books will be internationally distributed. The publications are stocked at €140 and published by ACC Publishing Group, Suffolk, United Kingdom.
