Woolmark Prize: Rochambeau and Gabriela Hearst win US final
Rochambeau and Gabriela Hearst have won the US final of the Woolmark Prize, following Tim Labenda (Germany) and Malte Flagstad (Denmark) for Europe, and Faustine Steinmetz and Cottweiler for the UK.
Rochambeau made an impression thanks to creations inspired by post-9/11 New York, featuring a 'renegade' style. As for Gabriela Hearst, the designer is distinctive for using ultra-thin, flowing materials and for her architectural cuts.
The International Woolmark Prize is organised in a series of regional finals, staged in Hong Kong, Sydney, London, Mumbai and New York, selecting the best designers for men's and women's collections. The winners of these regional finals will contest the Woolmark Prize's international final in early 2017.
