Zimmermann opens new San Francisco and L.A. stores

Published
Oct 30, 2018

Luxury fashion brand Zimmermann has announced it will continue its retail expansion in the U.S. with the opening of two new Californian boutiques. Both the Pacific Palisades and San Francisco flagships opened this month.

Both boutique interiors were designed by Australian architect Don McQualter of Studio McQualter, focusing on a light, feminine aesthetic - Via Zimmermann

The 1,561 square-foot Pacific Palisades store will mark the Australian brand's second free-standing store in the Los Angeles area, joining Zimmermann's Melrose Place location. The 2,800 square-foot shop in San Francisco's Jackson Square neighborhood will be the brand's northernmost store on the West Coast.

Both boutique interiors were designed by Australian architect Don McQualter of Studio McQualter, focusing on a light, feminine aesthetic. Special decor includes custom metalwork, light fixtures, display tables, millwork and visual merchandising fixtures for both stores, as well as vintage furniture items like 1930’s Art Deco armchairs. Charles Dudouyt oak dining tables made of solid oak and 1976 vintage table lamps by Elio Martinelli for Matinelli Luce also feature in-store.

“Jackson Square is always a go to destination for us when we’re in town, so when an opportunity came up to open our first store in San Francisco, it just felt right," said creative director, Nicky Zimmermann, who co-founded the brand along with her sister, Simone Zimmermann.

"Pacific Palisades has a very airy coastal feel, it feels very much like home. We are looking forward to presenting our collections within our own stores’ unique environment."

In a press release, the brand said it would announce further plans for U.S. and European retail expansion in 2019.
