The Denim Première Vision show has been forced to shelve its plans for holding physical events by the end of the year, but is still active in linking up denim brands with industry specialists, via a new digital event. Instead of staging the show planned in Berlin on November 24-25, Denim PV has kicked off its Denim Digital Week, starting on November 30.

Denim Première Vision has gone digital - DR

Denim Première Vision has brought together some 50 exhibitors presenting their materials innovation for the Spring/Summer 2022 season. Among them, 34 fabric manufacturers, six garment manufacturers/launderers/finishers, seven accessories producers and two technology firms, all of them showcasing new initiatives that will be available on the Première Vision marketplace. Denim PV said it has created “a more interactive, more effective digital catalogue designed to boost business,” notably featuring new functionalities to enable smoother connections between contractors and buyers. During the event, select exhibitors will present their Spring/Summer 2022 collections online.

Consistent with its mission, Denim Première Vision intends to contribute insights on the transformations occurring within the industry. A series of masterclasses and conferences, adapted to the new virtual format, will be held digitally on December 1 and 2 (all times indicated are CET).

A conference on the future of denim is scheduled on Tuesday December 1 at 10 a.m., and at 12 noon, Alessio Berto of The Tailor Pattern Support will describe how to revamp a trucker jacket in the event's first workshop. At 2 p.m., Denim PV’s design team will present the season’s main trends; at 4 p.m., the daily ‘Smart Talk’ will focus on the Regenerative Organic Alliance's new certification.

On December 2 at 10 a.m., a second ‘Smart Talk’ will concentrate on blockchain innovation and on the applications that are most relevant to the textile industry. At 12 noon, there will be a second workshop on how to deconstruct and refashion workwear jackets. Finally, at 2 p.m., a talk by Lucia Rosin, founder of creative studio Meidea, will discuss design trends and biomimicry in particular.

The next physical edition of Denim Première Vision is planned for May 25-26 2021 at Milan’s Superstudio Più.
