Dolce & Gabbana has boosted its senior management team. The Italian luxury label has created the post of group communication & marketing officer, appointing Fedele Usai to the new role. Usai will also take charge of Dolce & Gabbana Casa, the label's new homeware division whose first collection will be unveiled at the end of August.

The group did not provide any further details on this project, simply stating in a press release that Usai “will be tasked with developing the group’s global marketing and communication strategies.”

Usai was born in Cagliari, Sardinia, and is also the vice-president of top flight football club Cagliari Calcio. He has a degree in philosophy, and began his business career in advertising. He has worked for leading Italian and international advertising agencies like BGS, Bates, Leo Burnett and TBWA, where he was the CEO of the Italian subsidiary in 2009, before a stint at Fiat, where he was in charge of global communication.

In 2011, Usai joint Condé Nast Italy, becoming its CEO in 2017. At the end of 2020, he left the US publisher to join Tenderstories, an Italian video production company, which he recently quit to join Dolce & Gabbana.
