The Cashmere World trade fair will take place in Hong Kong on September 25–27, an international exhibition for professionals from the entire cashmere industry.

The event is organized by the China Chamber of Commerce for the import and export of domestic products (China Chamber of Commerce of Import & Export of Foodstuffs, Native Produce & UBM Asia Ltd).

The Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre will host companies from Afghanistan, India and Thailand, backed by the participation of businesses from China, Hong Kong and Mongolia.

Forty-six percent of the companies exhibiting are manufacturers of cashmere garments, while 22 percent specialize in accessories containing cashmere.

Around 11 percent of the exhibitors are suppliers of raw materials, another 11 percent selling unfinished products and 4 percent with finished products.

China and Mongolia provide 90 percent of the world production of cashmere, with the major customers based in Italy, China, the United Kingdom and Japan.

In 2013, Cashmere World hosted 61 companies and attracted 2,022 industry professionals.
