German sportswear giant Puma has signed up Spain’s classiest footballer David Silva to be the latest star to wear its Puma One boots.

Legendary for his silky first touch and perfectly balanced swivel, Silva is a star attacker with Manchester City, the reigning champions in the English Premiership.

"I was already wearing Puma football boots when I was a kid and I am looking forward to wearing the brand again. Some people call me El Mago, so for my next trick I’ll be wearing Puma One," said 32-year-old Silva in a release.

Silva joins two other noted current players, Luis Suarez, a Uruguayan who plays for Barcelona in Spain, and Romelu Lukaku, the Belgian center-forward of City’s cross-town rivals Manchester United, on Puma’s roster of major global stars.

In a storied career, Silva has scored 35 goals in 125 appearances for the Spanish national team; with whom he has won two European Championships and one World Cup. While for Manchester City Silva has won three Premiership titles and one FA Cup, the world’s oldest professional title in football.

The pathbreaking Puma One, with mixed conical and bladed studs, features a kangaroo leather toe cap, and has won impressive reviews from players and sporting websites alike. The perfect assist for Silva, whose latest game is Monday night, when City play title rivals Tottenham Hotspur in London in a heavyweight duel in the Premiership.
