Raeburn, Bottletop, Stella McCartney named amongst top fashion disruptors

Common Objective’s new CO10 Awards have recognised the top ten fashion businesses driving change through innovation, sustainable practices and creativity.

Common Objective

The awards campaign is led by Common Objective, a network that uses technology to help sustainable fashion business thrive.

Judged by a panel of experts including Dylan Jones, editor of GQ UK; Caroline Rush, chief executive of the British Fashion Council; designer Roland Mouret and actress and model Amber Valletta, the fashion businesses had to meet certain criteria across six areas of business, from mission and business model to impact and communications, to qualify.

Stella McCartney, Raeburn, Osklen, Bottletop, Indigenous, Outland Denim, Mayamiko, Sonica Sarna Design, Ethical Apparel Africa and The Rajlakshmi Cotton Mills were awarded an inaugural CO10 award.

"Sustainability is at the heart of the future of the fashion industry," said Caroline Rush, chief executive of British Fashion Council. "To see British designers at the forefront of innovation is inspiring, and champions the kind of creativity and artistry that will drive the industry forward."

Tamsin Lejeune, CEO of CO added: "We’re recognising the businesses that are pioneering best practice in the fashion industry, from one end of the supply chain to the other, from established players to new generation innovators. Our goal is to reward the businesses that are taking a leadership role - and encourage others to follow suit. We’ve been delighted by the quality and range of applicants to these inaugural CO awards."

“The CO awards are putting the spotlight on the visionaries that will drive change - and inspire a new generation of fashion professionals,” said Harold Tillman, chairman of CO.

In addition to the CO10 winners, Common Objective awarded a CO Leadership award to 110 other businesses, which met at least four out of the six criteria.
