Weekday to open second store in Paris

Streetwear label Weekday, which first entered the French market in April 2017, has decided to open a second store in Paris this year. The H&M group’s young urban brand did not disclose the store’s exact location, but said it would open in the Saint-Martin canal area next summer.

The Weekday store opened at 44 Sendlinger Straße, Munich, in November 2018 - Weekday

Weekday was created in 2002 by the founders of Cheap Monday - which will be discontinued by its owner H&M this year - and became the property of the Swedish fast-fashion giant in 2008.

The first Weekday store in France opened at 121 rue Vieille-du-Temple, in Paris’s Marais district, and extends over an area of 225 square metres. The label’s second Parisian store will be located in the Saint-Martin canal area, defined as “young and directional.”

Weekday’s future Paris opening is part of a pan-European expansion plan. The label currently operates 30 stores in 10 countries, and recently opened new ones in Helsinki, Finland, in September, in Berlin last October and Munich in November.

Weekday, which targets 15-25-year-olds, also plans to open its first stores in Iceland and Luxembourg in the spring and summer 2019. At the same time, it will broaden its footprint in Belgium, opening two new shops in Leuven and Ghent, bringing its total number in the country to five.
